…that lets you manage all your jobs from a single, consistent interface to track, account and generate your output needs in the most effective and efficient way.
Core Features
Emtex FlexServer gives you a single command center for you entire production output process
Job Transmission
FlexServer guarantees accurate transmission of data, formatted or unformatted, over TCP/IP networks using a sophisticated check-point restart feature to allow automatic recovery from transmission errors.
For MVS JES2/3 sites, Emtex’s JES2Q and JES3Q options, downloads any datatstream over TCP/IP to FlexServer.
Job reception
As jobs are spooled, its control information is entered into FlexServer's job queue database. In an MVS/JES environment, this information comes directly from the job's JCL parameters.
Job Workflow - Rules based routing and Job Splitting
FlexServer makes routing decisions based on customer-defined criteria (Mapping rules). These rules allow the job to be sent to other processes e.g. document composition and print enhancements tools before being routed directly to printers or Emtex VIP if transformation is required. These rules can also be used to split certain jobs based on specific parameters such as number of lines or pages.
Resource Management
Resources are stored in separate customer repositories. As jobs are processed for output, FlexServer scans the job and checks for any missing resources. For Xerox Jobs, resources are optionally downloaded to the printer. In multi-site operations, resources libraries can be synchronized to ensure all jobs can be printed at all locations.
Job Output & Site to Site Management
FlexServer offers a number of printer drivers for Xerox Postscript printers that deliver the native printstream directly to the device. If PDL transformations is required, the job is delivered to Emtex VIP via an API. Multiple FlexServer systems can be linked together across multiple sites to enable peer to peer job transfer for workload
balancing and DR.
Job Tracking
FlexServer keeps track of every job by logging detailed information into a central database throughout the entire production cycle. This critical database provides FlexServer with real time status of jobs, needed to make production decisions or used to support other 3rd party Job Scheduling Systems such as Bell & Howell’s JETSTM or Pitney Bowes DFWorksTM via FlexServer’s API interface.
Job Accounting
FlexServer records detailed statistics of each job enabling you to produce accurate billing, production and audit reports. These reports ensure that you correctly recover your costs, operate with agreed service levels and maintain an efficient print operation.
